Information About Kangaroo Island

Kangaroo Island is located 13 km's off the coast of South Australia and is Australia’s third largest island with a length of 150 km's and a width of 50 km's approximately. One third of Kangaroo Island is dedicated to National Parks making Kangaroo Island a virtual sanctuary for fauna and flora. Kangaroo Island has also escaped some of the introduced species that main land Australia has such as foxes and rabbits which have changed the face of the Australian outback. The only issue Kangaroo Island has is with feral cats, unfortunately they pray on native wildlife such as small birds and lizards.

What brings a lot of people here is the wildlife, if you love nature well you are going to love it here. Kangaroo Island has unspoiled beaches, abundance of wildlife and some of the most beautiful country side. Unfortunately what some people don't realise is how big Kangaroo Island is, they arrive here with a bicycle and expect to ride around the island in one day. There have been  bicycle club's that do cycle around the island but they allow more then one day to do this. So be prepared to do a bit of travelling to see all that Kangaroo Island has to offer.

If you’re looking for that romantic get away, a family holiday or just some where you can sit back and relax well Kangaroo Island is the place for that.
